S.C.A.L.E - Search Celestials After Leaving Earth
S.C.A.L.E. - Searching Celestials After Leaving Earth
The use of the SCALE theme:
- Game Name (as seen above)
- Game Difficulty (puzzles get harder as you progress)
- Puzzle sizes (mazes get bigger as you progress)
- Planetary system is to SCALE of our real life solar system. Note: Planet sizes use a different scale than planet distances because it would be nearly impossible since distances between planets are so astronomical (no pun intended).
Note: In the game, you may only see the planets up to Jupiter, but all planets are in the scene. I just haven't made it that far yet with the puzzles.
IMPORTANT NOTE: Please play in full screen. I'm still trying to figure out the right resolution on itch.io to work for full screen and not full screen.
PLOT: Earth has been destroyed due to poor leadership. We have deployed a robot to explore the universe for a survivable place to live. But, the celestials that built us a way to explore the universe requests that we prove ourselves worthy by completing a series of puzzles in our journey. We have 25 years of survivability in the bunker. You must complete your mission within 25 years.
Note: 1 earth day is equivalent to 1 minute real time. The player must complete all puzzles within 9,125 minutes of playtime (unless there's a way to extend survivability in the bunker. I wonder!?)
CURRENT FEATURES:
- Real Life planetary scale
- Planet sizes are relative to other planet sizes using a scale of 1 mile real radius to 0.0025 unity meters.
- Planet distances apart are relative to other distances between planets using a scale of 1 real mile to 0.0000025 unity meters.
- Planet axis is near exact tilt according to real data from Nasa with Earth being at a 23.4 degree tilt and other planets as appropriate.
- Planet rotation speed is near exact, using 1 minute equals 1 earth day as a basis calculation. Therefore, Earth rotates 1 time in 1 minute and other planets rotate according to Nasa data.
- The Sun scale and distance has been heavily adjusted. Simply because the Sun is so massive, it would never work to be accurate.
- The skybox is not accurate according to Nasa data. This was for visualization purposes to suit the game.
- Extraterrestrial Planet Examination Robot (EPER) - Player with controls for WASD or Arrow Keys to move.
- Plot (Story) with Voice Dialogue for accessibility and immersion.
- Puzzles (Mazes), which SCALE in difficulty AND size.
- Background Music (for your enjoyment).
- Six Completed Puzzles. So far, only six puzzles have been completed, and MANY more coming soon.
- 9 Puzzles (Mazes)
- Path to Explore to Mars and Jupiter
- Distance From Earth
- Current Earth Day
- Main Start Screen
- Play Option
